Hello, DT member Sharon here and today I'd love to show you my Brave Spirit card.
Summer here in Scotland is fading away and I can see the first signs of Autumn creeping in but before it does I wanted to make a gold summery card. I've used as my main image and sentiment one of my favourite stamps from the Angels of love & light collection and she is called "Shine". It's a beautiful set and reminds us all to do the things that make YOU happy.
First I took a piece of scrapbook paper from my stash. I picked a piece that I could cut a square to fit my card from it with a feature image. The image already has some gold detail in it. I then used a distress oxide ink in blueprint sketch mixed it with some water and lightly brushed it over the paper.
I stamped some leaves from the "Blossom wild & free" stamp set with clear versamark and gold embossing powder to the top left corner. Make sure your watercoloured background is dry first. Then colour. I've used alcohol pens. I also edged the paper with gold embossing powder.
The next step is to stamp out "Shine" and the flower tops from the "Blossom wild & free" set with the versamark and gold embossing powder. I stamped all the images onto some of the scrapbook paper and paper pieced her dress. I then coloured her skin and hair with alcohol pens.
Stamp out the words you would like to use, I've used the "Shine" wording the same way and I've also edged them with the gold embossing too.
To finish off I took a white blank card and layered it with dark blue cardstock. I adhered the main image onto the scrapbook paper with strong glue. To adhere the words and flowers I used 3D pads to make them stand out. I then spattered a little white paint all over the card front.
I really love the way the gold embossing makes the card look that little bit more special and adds a lovely texture.
For my card, I've used
"Shine" from the Angels of love & light collection which you can find here
"Blossom wild & free" from the Souls bloom & blossom which is here
And if you'd like to see all of Tracy's other beautiful sets you can find them in the Tracy Easson Illustrations Etsy store here.
