Hello crafty friends, thanks so much for stopping by...
It's Anne here with today's post, and for my DT project this month I've done some paper piecing. It's something different to do with your stamps and also a great way to use up those scraps of patterned paper... I know you all have a box full, just like me!!
I used one of my favourites stamp sets, this is Lallianna Twinkle Toes and she's from the Clan McQueen. They're all my favourites, but I do have a soft spot for sweet Lallianna
***
Stamp Lallianna onto white card in black ink, this will be your base and also a guide for adding the paper pieces.
Stamp her again onto scraps of paper (you don't have to use the full image each time, just the area you want) and then cut them all out.
I did the dress in three parts and layered them to give the effect of ruffles.
Start gluing the patterned pieces on over the original image making sure they line up. I sneaked in a piece of lace too at the bottom of her dress.
I added an oval frame and stuck the whole thing onto a die cut background paper.
I stamped her feet again over the top and now added her socks and shoes to make it look as though she is in front of the frame.
I stamped and paper pieced the basket in the same way and glued it under her arm with a couple of strips of matching paper to make a handle. Some foam pads in the centre give it a bit of dimension. I die cut lots of tiny hearts and used them to fill her basket and her pocket. I also scattered a few around the image, you can't have too many hearts!!
This is the finished card, I layered it onto black and added the sentiment in a die cut heart, strips of paper under her feet and some rosy pink cheeks
...oh, and I can't resist a bit of glitter!
I really hope you like it and that you'll have a go at paper piecing. You can get the stamp set from Tracy's Etsy store here along with all her other amazing designs
Hope to see you in our friendly Facebook Group 'Friends of Tracy Easson Illustrations' there is so much inspiration in there and it's a lovely place to share your own work too.
Have a great day everyoone
Anne xx
