Hello everyone, I hope you are all enjoying your weekend so far!
It`s Sunday again . . . which means a new Pan Pastel Challenge over at Premium Crafts Brand Blog
and
the theme this week is
Falling Leaves

My inspiration for the challenge came from a leaf that I picked up while walking . . . it reminded me of the bottom half of a boat, what can I say my imagination runs in mysterious mad ways,lol!
To get started I used another scrap of wood from the pile I have in the shed and gave it a quick coat of Maimeri Gesso . . .
. . . next it was time to build a few layers with Stencil Masks, Stamps, Metallic Pan Pastels, Pan Pastels, Maimeri Gesso, Iridescent Paste, Gloss Gel and some crumbled up leaves scattered around.
Time to make the sail!
I snipped a boat shape out of card, covered the whole thing with a Versamark Ink pad then took a few Metallic Pan Pastels in Rich Gold, Copper, Bronze and a Permanent Red Shade Pastel, blending the colors together.
Next up, I know it`s hard to make them out, but I took a Versamark Ink pad and inked up one of the stamps from Susan K Weckesser Autumn Grunge Set and stamped all over . . . the lighter color is the stamped image.
I took a Black Pan Pastel and with a Soft Tool I went around all the edges for definition.
Now I only wish I had time to use the Maimeri Glassy gel, I have seen the finishes it gives . . . STUNNING . . .
. . . but time was against me so I dipped the sail into UTEE in my Melt Pot, burnt my finger . . . ouch . . . sprinkled a little Metallic Pan Pastel over and when it hardens it gives a beautiful sheen and shimmer
I can`t put into words how Scrumptious the Metallics are and wonderful to work with!!!
I used a Maimeri Matt Gel to fix the leaf to the wood and Silicone Gel for the sail and stick.
Credit to my oldest son Rory who came up with title
" Leaves over Troubled Waters "
which I scribbled onto a manilla tag, snipped out and ran a little Metallic Pan pastel all around the edges with the Soft Tool before fixing in place with Maimeri Matt Gel.
To finish it off I wanted more texture . . .
I already had the melted UTEE from earlier still sitting in the Melt Pot
Sooooo
I started to randomly pour it all over the wood, sprinkling Metallic Pan Pastel all over and helping it all run and set with my Heat Tool to finish!
Phew if you could only see my shed now,lol!
