I had so much fun with this challenge altering a box, making a tiny dress and a set of wings all with the help of some yummy products -
Pan Pastels,
Maimeri Mediums,
New Metallic Pan Pastels,
Pink Paislee - She Art Coffee Filter Sheets- Text
Unity Stamp Co. Phyllis Harris Your Wings Exist - sentiment
along with tissue paper, tea bags, box and a few little bits and bobs.
π©· To make the dress . . .
π©· take a page from an old book, sketch a dress shape, snip it out and add a quick coat of Maimeri Gesso all over the front and back
π©· Once dry . . . take a little Maimeri iredescent gel and add a little Magenta Extra Dark pan, I applied it all over using my fingers.
At this point I wanted to add a little detail with a fine black liner pen.
π©· I kept adding more touches of Pan Pastels in . . . Hansa Yellow Shade, Permanent Red Shade along with a few of the new Metallics in . . . Rich Gold, Light Gold and Copper.
For the splatters I added a touch of Rich Gold PP to water and flicked it on with a paintbrush.
π©·Sorry no pics on adding the layers to make the skirt . . . but I can explain . . .
✨️
I used plain old tea bags, yep tea bags -
Just snip the top off, empty the leaves, split it so you have two sides and quarter each side.
Scrunch and gather each section in your hand and fix in place with Maimeri Matt Gel Medium, Starting at the bottom working upwards.
The splatters done in the exact same way as before only using a few more colours.
π©·
I wanted to add a little more . . . soooo . . . out came the tissue paper, scrunch, acrunch, followed by some seed beads sprinkled and all fixed in place with Maimeri Gel Medium.
Pssst . . . I made the hanger using a little thin wire, twisting it to make it strong, joining it together at the ends and shaping.
π©·
The wings -
Waaaah, it`s a leaf that I had drying in my shed and how beautiful it looks after snipping in half, then applying a little Copper, Gold and Bronze Metallic Pan Pastels along with a touch of the Magenta Extra Dark PP . . . they really bring out the texture of the veins.
✨️
The Box -
The box I used was an old brown Kraft box I had in my shed, I started with a quick coat all over with White Acrylic Paint.
I used the Delicate Mask Stencil, pressing a Versamark ink pad all over and then applying Copper and Light Gold metallic Pan Pastels over the top.
π©·
You can`t make it out very well in this photo, but I also inked up a script stamp with a Versamark Ink Pad and randomly applied it over the box, adding more Metallic Pans over the top . . .
{ I sealed each colour with cheap hairspray }
A little Maimeri gloss Gel Medium over it all and a little sprinkling of seed beads.
✨️
The inside -
I used Maimeri Matt Gel Medium to fix the Coffee Filters in place on the bottom half . . . if you haven`t used the
Pink Paislee She Art filters you have toooooo... they are gorgeous to work with and take colours so well!
The lid had the same treatment as the outside, only this time leaving out the Mask Stencil.
π©·
Phew . . . if your still here . . . Thank yoooou I know that was a loooong post today!
