π©· Happy Monday friends,
A few weeks ago I popped on a sneaky peek of my project for eclectic Paperie and today I thought I would show you it here incase you missed it.
✨️
It was myfirst attempt at a
She Art Paintbrush
inspired by Christy Tomlinson
which started life something like this . . .
π©· Every She Art girl should have some pretty hair, don`t you think?
Soooo what to do,hmmm . . .
I pondered a while and then glimpsed my every trusty heat tool and wondered what would happen if I used it on the bristles.
π©· Oh my giddy aunt I love the new look bristles . . .as you heat the bristles { not too close } with the Heat tool they start to wriggle and squiggle plus get thicker.
If you over heat they do get fragile so if you try this be really careful, but you will find it soooo fascinating to watch!!!
My shed does carry a slight smell of burning, lol so make sure your area is well ventilated as well.
π©· The hair is done, time to get on with the base -
a light sanding all over followed by roughly applied Gesso and an Adirondack Paint Dabber, I kinda like this look but you could go smooth.
I started painting in hair using a mixture of watercolors and Distress inks until I was happy.
π©· Here`s a more detailed shot.
I used some Pan Pastels to give a tint of color to her face, now I have a wee confession to make-
I did try and give her a face but by this time the paintbrush had taken on a life of her own and was having none of it,lol and pleeease could I do something more with her hair?
π©· Dumdedumdedum . . . a few beautiful flowers, then some rusty wire was curled and then no She Art of mine would be complete without a HEART . . .
But still she wanted more . . .
π©· In my first ever design team package from Kim was and is one of my favourite stamp sets by Wendy Vecchi { looooove } so out came an ink pad, loaded the stamp and stamped away followed by snip, snip, snip popping into place using a hot glue gun.
See the shimmer . . . I used a clear embossing pad and a little Cosmic Shimmer Embossing powder to give her a little Glitz to keep her happeeee.

π©· Next
a little more watercolor on the handle to match the flowers, a little
trim for her collar and another sentiment from my favourite Wendy Vecchi stamps on a recycled tag.
π©·This sentiment pretty much sums all us crafters up from around the globe!
✨️
I hope you enjoyed looking as much as I enjoyed creating.
Have a great day
Till next time
big hugs

Amazingly lovely! Your tutorial on curling the hair really tickled me!
I just love the way this turned out and your story was just delightful to read <3
I remember her well... but so happy to see her again. That hair is simply inspired!
