Just a Girl and her Forever Friend ...

 Hello crafty friends, thanks so much for stopping by. I’m Anne, and I’m delighted to be here with Tracy and her amazing team.

My first post and tutorial for your inspiration is using one of my favourite stamps ‘Just a Girl and her Forever Friend’

 Her dress is so pretty it brought to mind the paper dolls we used to love playing with when we were children (ladies of a certain age will remember them!) I’ve done something similar for my project today and I hope you like it…

I printed the verse/sentiments on my computer and cut them out as shown. I used a slimline die, there are lots on the market but you can just cut straight edges if you don’t have a suitable die. Ink around the edges and then add some details with a stencil and inks.

Next I stamped ‘Just a Girl’ and coloured her, you can choose your favourite colouring medium (I used alcohol markers on mine). You don’t need to do the dress as this will be covered up. Ink around the edges and add some detail as before to match the other panels.

Take a piece of black card slightly longer than your panels and 3 times the width allowing extra for borders. Score and stick them on as shown. Just add glue/tape to the bottom and sides of the smaller pieces as these will be used for pockets.

Now for the fun bit!

Use up all your scraps of patterned papers to make the dresses. Stamp and cut them out, not forgetting to add a tab at each shoulder.

You can really go to town with these; add lace, beads, die cuts, tulle, glitter etc. I only intended to make 7 but couldn’t help myself, I really enjoyed making them.

Next, using a craft knife carefully cut along the line of her sleeve as shown. This creates a slot for the tabs on the dresses you made to go into.

Now she’s ready to be dressed! Give her a different outfit every day of the week and the others can be tucked into the little pockets we created.
