Hi and welcome to my first post with the team. I am super excited to be here and sharing some of my creations with Tracy's amazing designs.
Anyone who knows me, knows that I love to combine stamping onto fabric and sewing. While we've had the darker nights I've made the following project using The Chieftain.
I stamped The Chieftain with Versafine Clair, it's not going to be washed so this is ok to do.
I chose to put the calico fabric into a hoop but it isn't necessary, it's personal preference.
I used a back stitch with black embroidery thread to emphasise The Chieftains lines that Tracy drew.
When I was happy with the black lines I filled the areas with Derwent Inktense pencil, using similar colours to the thread I was using. These pencils are great on fabric as you can water colour them.
For his trousers I wanted to use a couple of colours of thread so started with spaces between stitch and filled in between them.
Of course he needed stripy socks.
I've added The Chieftain to my new notebook.
As it's a fabric cover I used bondaweb and ironed him on to it and
coloured the extra fabric with alcohol pen.
I love that he's tactile.
I hope I've inspired you to stamp onto other surfaces than card.
Thanks for stopping by
