Create an easy gift box

Good morning everyone, thanks for stopping by

It's Anne here today with some inspiration for our monthly themed challenge - for December we want you to create a gift box

I love making little books with matching boxes and this easy box can be used for cards too

My book is 10 cm square, add 2 cm for the sides and an extra .5 cm. So, my first piece of card is 12.5 cm square. The second piece needs to be just a fraction larger, this will be the lid. Score and fold 1 cm in from the edge on all sides on both pieces

Cut a little wedge from each corner as shown. Then just fold the sides in and stick at the corners with either glue or double sided tape. I find tape easier as you don't have to hold it

I stamped flowers and foliage from the 'Blossom Wild & Free' set onto patterned paper and then coloured them with a black marker to give a silhouette effect. I added sentiments and then made the panels into a simple accordian book

A nice finishing touch is to decorate the box, I used another stamped panel on the lid and some paper on the sides. I dyed some seam binding with matching ink and used this to secure the box

You can alter the dimensions of the box to suit your project, just add more than 1 cm as required for the sides to make it deeper

Hope you'll give it a go and enter our challenge - full details are on the Facebook Group

This lovely stamp set and all the sentiments are available on Tracy's Etsy store

Have a lovely day everyone x
