Oh my, how I had forgotten my love for old worn out books, the ones that no one wants anymore, hidden away in nooks and crannies. The textures, the smells evoke something deep inside me that a new book or art journal sadly does not.
They`re not first editions and to some nothing special, they have had a rough passage . . . spines broken, pages missing, aged worn but to me they are treasures beckoning me to grab a pencil and start doodling.
As I dream, so she she
dreams coming to life through my imagination with joy in my heart at
being able to do something I love, expressing myself through art even with an old book . . . one to look back on and treasure one page at a time.
With the help of some water, DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics, a mechanical pencil and my ever trusty white pen I`m ready to fill this book with my wild whimsical imaginings.
Let the fun begin
Till next time
Happy crafting

Oh Tracy.... Your words have such a power over me.... And I too have a affinity with (to?) old books. I can feel their history right through the pages. Thank you for the inspiration, I am now heading down the stairs to my studio to add something to my Old Altered Book I created just for faces!
ReplyDeleteLynne I can't wait to see your old altered book filled with faces! Something about old books that just gets me and once filled with art are ones to treasure ... have fun in your studio. Big hugs from across the miles xxxx
