Morning Lovelies, Ali here with my next post. I love using candles and adding stamped images to them. I make these a lot as gifts. This one featuring the lovely couple that is
Morty and Margareeet Bottoms would make a fabulous wedding or anniversary gift. I’ve done a step by step for you so if you fancy having a go, you can.
I stamped Morty and Margareeet onto plain tissue paper using black Stazon ink. Once that was dry I used my Polychromo pencils to colour the image.
Now cut closely around your coloured image as by doing this the tissue paper will disappear into the candle.
Now lay your coloured image onto the candle where you want it. Carefully wrap this in grease proof paper. Taking your heat tool, slowly warm the candle so that it slightly starts to melt which causes the tissue paper image to be sucked into the soft wax and disappear.
You can see the colour difference in the above photo where the wax has started to melt and where it hasn’t. Keep going until the whole image has adhered to the candle. You can do this in small pieces and check if it’s complete each time.
This is what you should end up with, a beautiful image that looks like it’s been stamped onto the candle.
Now choose the wording you would like to add to the back of the candle. Complete the same process as for the main image. Here’s the back of my candle and it’s wording.
I chose to stamp, our love was written in the stars, as Morty and Margareeet are a true love story π
I hope I’ve inspired you to have a go at this technique. I’d love to see your creations if you have a go. Why not pop your photos in our Facebook group so we can all see them π
Thanks for taking the time to stop by and looking at my work.
Big hugs to you all, Ali xxx π
